We’ve compiled some helpful resources as you consider what Bible Reading Plan is best for you. Each person’s spiritual journey is unique, so it’s important to consider which plan makes the most sense for you. Bible Essentials

New Testament in a Year >
This plan will take you through the New Testament in a year. It’s called the 5 x 5 x 5 plan because it takes about 5 minutes a day and it’s set up for 5 days of reading each week. The PDF also includes 5 ideas for engaging with the text as you read.

Foundations of Scripture (5 days a week) >
A 260 day reading plan that highlights the foundational passages of Scripture that every disciple should know. Read 1 or 2 chapters a day for 5 days each week.

Engage Scripture >
A journey through each book of the Bible over the course of one year. Read a chapter a day from the Old Testament, the Psalms, and the New Testament with additional days off built in.

Old and New Testament in 1, 2, or 3 Years

The links below will guide you through the entire Bible (Old and New Testament). Generally speaking, you will need to read about 4 chapters a day to get through the Bible in a year. If you spread it over two years, it’s about two chapters a day.

M’Cheyne + D.A. Carson Reading Plan

Robert Murray M’Cheyne was a Scottish minister in the early 1800’s. He developed a well-know reading plan that will take you through the New Testament and Psalms twice and the Old Testament once. There is a One-Year and Two-Year Version of the plan. You read four chapters a day on the One-Year plan and two chapters a day on the Two-Year plan. D.A. Carson slightly modified this reading plan and published it in two volumes, along with his comments regarding each day’s scriptural passages. The links for those resources are also included below. Encountering Jesus

If you want to encounter Jesus in a personal way as you begin the new year, these reading plans may be just what you’re looking for. The links below provide offer some different options to focus your Bible reading on the life of Jesus in the Gospels. Most of these plans will point you to important texts about Jesus. A few of the links are to Bibles that some folks at Grace have found helpful (though there are many, many great options out there!) and the other links are to supporting materials that may help you go deeper in your study of the Bible in the coming year. The Chronological Bibles reorganize the original text so that it is printed in the order that the events happened historically.
